1.
Aurora Redux 04:45
We have no time to talk About the things that bind us Lost in a haze I pull and push you away Can I drown in your lips one last time? Pure hearts colour night skies My real eyes can see through your lies Tear me down, I'll watch you fall Blind hearts won't catch you No-one to catch you Like atoms smash into your smile Let me drown in your lips and hold you in Pull you in
2.
Wake me up It’s not too late Holding onto memories But your scent escapes me Time slipping Hair through hands Shards of younger me fleeing Wake me up It’s not too late Fleeing Slowly we collide Heavy skies tonight Mumble into my ear Your words floating endlessly This weightless warmth Silhouettes evading Remembering Stills of younger you Fleeing Wake me up It’s not too late Fleeing

about

Great songs can exist in any form, nostalgia being the common denominator here. Taking Slow Crush’s hazy sound and adding a synthetic twist from another decade.

Slow Crush and Lost Century Kid decided to team up to recreate two of the most dreamy tracks on the critically acclaimed Slow Crush debut album 'Aurora'.

Bringing Isa Holliday’s soothing voice up front seemed like the obvious thing to do. Softly shaping arrangements around it was quite the therapeutic journey, but at the same time a very mindful process.

Considerately filling up space between vocals and guitars, like the Juno-60 melody in “Collide”. Or, completely altering the song structure and harmonies in “Aurora”.

At first, all of this happened in real time, jamming along with the original tracks. Afterwards, everything was programmed in MIDI and recorded in a single live take, simultaneously controlling all synths and samplers.

Both reworks are a unique capture of that moment you decide to finally let it all go.

SLOW CRUSH Belgium

A compelling abrasive shoegaze band, dealing with the aesthetics of contrasting sounds.
Heavy like a gloomy dream yet soothingly vibrant.
The vulnerable soft floating voice of Manchester's Isa Holliday underneath layers of grungy shoegaze soaked noisepop, seeking shelter from a f'ed up world.
